CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - Wanda Connor says she and her husband hired Hi-Tech Digital, llc. in November of 2019 to upgrade security cameras in their home. However, she says they never did the job.
"He told us it would be $800 and that he needed the money to get the all the equipment. We trusted him before, so we went on and gave him the $800. He’s never come back to give us our refund,” said Connor.
WAFB’s Action Jackson spoke to James Smith, co-owner of Hi-Tech Digital. Smith claims he’s waiting to be reimbursed for equipment from a distribution center based in China. He says he doesn’t know when he will be able to give a refund to the Connors.
Connor says in the meantime, they’ve hired another company to complete the job. Connor says she’s happy their sense of safety is back.
“We did not feel safe because we could not monitor our home. In the meantime, my husband did find another company that stepped in and was able to do the cameras and got them working again,” said Connor.
Connor says she will no longer pay in full for contracted work before it’s completed.
