ZACHARY, La. (WAFB) - Lots of Baton Rouge-area football talent gathered in Zachary on Saturday, Dec. 21 for the annual Red Stick Bowl, which has been put on for so many years by Barrett Murphy and company.
In the first quarter, the Eagles had an early 7-0 lead over the Patriots and they would add to it with a little trickery.
Denham Springs quarterback Luke Lunsford passed to White Castle’s Javier Batiste, who was listed as a wide receiver in this game but played quarterback for the Bulldogs, who then found a wide open Rodney White of East Feliciana to make it 13-0.
Batiste was named MVP of the game.
The Eagles came away with the 27-22 win over the Patriots.
