BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Toys collected from this year's Toys For Tots campaign are on their way to the people who need them.
We're told many of them will be distributed on Dec. 21 and 23.
The people behind Toys For Tots say they do this because they understand the need and they want children to have something under the tree.
“A lot of times the parents are a lot more thankful. The kids are like ‘hey it's a toy. I can play with it.’ But the parents are just like, ‘thank you so very much because I, I was struggling. I was worried. I was wondering if I was going to be able to get anything.’ And so even if we have one parent who appreciates it. One parent, we can inspire. That can carry us for a long way,” said Sgt. Courtney Bell with Toys For Tots.
The people behind Toys For Tots say they also work with local non-profits.
