BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - One middle schooler couldn't wait to get his hands on a brand-new video game controller. And another child got a hoverboard.
It’s all thanks to Health Centers In Schools in partnership with Morgan Stanley.
Six children from the school got a few items knocked off their Christmas wish list.
The hospital says they typically only provide healthcare to students, but they wanted to go beyond that this year.
“For kids to really be ready to learn and to really be engaged, they not only need healthcare. They not only need basics but they also need a little joy in their life,” said Kristen Gradney of Health Centers In Schools.
“We see the Kidd day in and day out. It’s really good to see them outside of the school’s doors and able to give them some things and put some smiles on their faces,” said Shalika Scott, who is the principal of Scotlandville Middle Magnet School.
This is the first year Health Centers In Schools has partnered with a school for a toy giveaway.
