BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU Tigers will have one of the top recruiting classes in the country once all of their commitments send in their official letters.

Head coach Ed Orgeron talked about the class of 2020. He said he is pleased with the players the Tigers were able to sign.

According to 247Sports, LSU has the No. 5 recruiting class. Clemson is ranked No. 1, Alabama is No. 2, Ohio State is No. 3, and Georgia is No. 4.

Orgeron also confirmed starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffered a leg injury in practice on Tuesday, December 17. He said the extent of the injury is unknown. He added it is not yet known what type of injury it is.

According to Orgeron, Edwards-Helaire underwent tests and the staff is awaiting the results of those. He described it as a “freak” injury, which didn’t involve any contact. He noted Edwards-Helaire did not practice Wednesday and it is unknown whether he will be available for the College Football Playoff Semifinal.
