BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The people at the Governor’s Mansion are getting into the holiday spirit.
For the fourth year in a row, they’re holding their holiday kickoff. This year, the mansion is welcoming the children of National Guard members and other people serving, not to mention the Children’s Tree, featuring art from students around the Baton Rouge area.
“This year’s Children’s Tree couldn’t be more magnificent in that we gave each school superintendent, asked them to pass it down to their artist in their K through 12th grade to send in an ornament of their choice. They decorated how they chose, with all things Louisiana,” said First Lady Donna Edwards.
The tree features everything from a clay magnolia to a cut-out crawfish to a saxophone.
