Monroe house ‘Callin’ Baton Rouge’ for the holidays with lights display
MONROE, La. (WAFB) - T’was a few weeks before Christmas, when a home in Monroe decided to decorate the exterior of their house with a lights display that’s gleefully “Callin’ Baton Rouge.”
Crystal Thomas posted a video of her family’s project that’s been in progress since July. Lights strewn around windows, lining the garage doors, and a tree in the front dance in synchronization to southeastern Louisiana’s favorite Garth Brooks song.
Crystal says her 15-year-old son Kyler wrote the sequence and her husband Paul is “the pour soul that’s been pushing pixels since July.”
Crystal says they are huge LSU fans, which is apparent as the university’s letters crawl across the strands of lights made to look like a Christmas tree in the front yard.

The lights are on every night from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Egret Landing subdivision in Monroe.
Crystal says her son, a freshman at Ouachita Christian School, is also working on another sequence dedicated to Coach O.
