Ride-share driver injured in shooting near LSU campus; gunman remains at large

Rideshare driver injured in shooting near LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A gunman remains on the run after reportedly shooting a ride-share driver on the edge of LSU’s campus.

The driver was shot near the corner of Nicholson Drive and West Chimes Street around 1 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, police say.

The shooter, who was standing outside the vehicle, fled the scene and has not been caught. Police do not know what led to the shooting.

There was a male passenger in the vehicle. He was not injured.

It’s currently not clear which ride-share company (like Uber or Lyft) the driver works for. Police say the victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening.
