BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A ribbon cutting was held Thursday morning for the road leading to the new Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.
Constantin Boulevard will connect new facilities in the health district on Essen Lane, including the state-of-the-art children’s hospital.
The road was named after the late sister Linda Constantin.
“She had just as much heart for Our Lady of the Lake as she did for the health community in general. And when we talk about collaboration, talking about the working relationship with the Baton Rouge General, within the Health District, I know she would make sure that the extension of the arms of us as a community of healthcare providers do it in unison and do it in betterment of the community we’re always so privileged to serve," Scott Wester, CEO of Our Lady of the Lake said.
Eventually, organizers say there will be walking and biking trails connecting the health district.
The free-standing hospital is slated to open on Oct. 5.
