1 arrested for cocaine possession during Barry after wreck on I-10

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - One man was arrested on drug charges Saturday, July 13 as Barry was moving through the Baton Rouge area.

Louisiana State Police says troopers responded to a wreck on I-10 near Highland Road in East Baton Rouge Parish. LSP reports Miguel Garcia-Aguilar, 24, was arrested and charged with DWI and possession of cocaine.

Authorities arrived on the scene to find a white SUV on its side in a ditch on the north side of I-10.

The responding officer interviewed Garcia-Aguilar, who said he had been drinking alcohol. During a pat-down search, an officer found a two plastic bags out of Garcia-Aguilar’s pants pockets. The white powder located inside the bags were cocaine, according to Garcia-Aguilar’s arrest report from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Garcia-Aguilar was also driving on a suspended license, according to the arrest report.
