PIERRE PART, La. (WAFB) - An Assumption Parish elementary school will be ending it school year two days early after direction from the Sheriff’s office and the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
According to the Assumption Parish Schools’ website, the last day of Pierre Part Elementary’s school year will be Tuesday, May 21 due to flood concerns. Students are not to report to school on Wednesday and Thursday, as previously scheduled. Any student who cannot safely travel to school will be excused, officials say.
Assumption High School will have a full day Tuesday to allow students to finish exams and will operate as scheduled Wednesday and Thursday.
Buses will not run in the Pierre Part area on Wednesday and Thursday.
Officials say all other school with operate as scheduled.
