NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - The New Orleans Pelicans have seen a large boost in season ticket sales since claiming the number one pick in Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery.
According to the Pelicans ticket office, they have sold more than 3000 season tickets since the draft lottery and that number is expected to grow.
The Pelicans, as well as Pelicans fans, celebrated last night’s announcement that the team would be making the first pick of the draft.
It is expected that the team will draft former Duke forward Zion Williamson with the first overall pick of the draft.
At 6’7”, 285 pounds, Williamson helped Duke to the Elite Eight in this year’s NCAA College Basketball Tournament and was named the Associated Press’ College Basketball Player of the year.
