DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) - Twins, Madison and Mason Zeringue, have graduated from Ascension Catholic High School as valedictorian and salutatorian.
Their mom, Aimee Zeringue Monaco, says Madison plans to go to Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond on a full scholarship, while Mason is headed to Louisiana State University Eunice to play baseball, also on a full ride.
Aimee says she raised the twins as a single parent and is incredibly proud of them.
“These two kids never let anything or anyone stop them from being great. They were and are determined to not have to struggle as we did when they were growing up,” she said.
The twins have achieved numerous honors. Madison was in the National Honor Society for three years, earned the TOPS Performance Award, was the president of Beta Club her senior year, and also served as executive student council secretary for two years, just to name a few. Mason also has earned the TOPS Performance Award and was also a member of the National Honor Society for three years. In the 2018-19 school year, he was named the Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce Teenager of the Year. He also earned letters in both football and baseball. The twins have also both earned numerous college credits and received multiple awards for courses such as biology, English, chemistry, physics, and computer science.
