NOPD: 4 injured in Central City shooting
Police are investigating a shooting near the intersection of Fourth and South Saratoga streets Monday afternoon (May 13).

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Four people were shot in Central City Monday afternoon (May 13), according to New Orleans police.

NOPD spokesman Gary Scheets said the shooting was reported around 3 p.m. A male victim was found in the 2100 block of 4th Street with a gunshot wound to the ankle and a second was found shot in the chest in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue, Scheets said.

Two other people were brought Touro Hospital with gunshot wounds a short while later, but Scheets said their gender and the extent of their injuries were not yet clear. NOPD later said both of those victims were shot in the arm, a 16-year-old in the right arm and a man in the left.

The shooting marked the fourth in New Orleans in less than 24 hours, with a total of eight people injured from gunfire in that span.

No additional information was immediately known, FOX 8 will update this story as more details become available.
