Residents still without power after storms cause outages in East Baton Rouge Parish
A fallen tree knocked down several power lines, causing power outages in the East Baton Rouge Parish.

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - The brunt of the storm has moved out of the Baton Rouge area this weekend, but some residents in East Baton Rouge Parish are still experiencing the effects of the rainy weather.

Over 500 residents in the parish are still without power as of 8 a.m., according to the Entergy outage map. On Saturday afternoon, over 3,000 residents were without power while heavy rain pummeled Baton Rouge.

Fallen trees near the Old Hammond Highway Park area took out several power lines, causing some of outages.

Flooding is still a concern for the area. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the WAFB viewing area until 1 p.m. Sunday.

Mass outages were reported in the New Orleans area Sunday morning. More than 15,000 Entergy customers were without power because of the storms. The company estimates the power will be restored by 8 a.m.
