GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - At East Ascension High School Wednesday, seniors got a running start to their summer break.
The event is the annual jump into the pond across from the campus in Gonzales. Seniors take the leap right after they finish their last test of their high school career. Hundreds of proud parents showed up to watch the spectacle. The seniors have been waiting for years for the moment.
“We jumped and that was it. Great experience, love EA, but that’s it. Class of 2019!” said Evan Copeland, a senior.
Wednesday, May 8 was the last day of school just for seniors in Ascension Parish. The rest of the parish finishes up in two weeks.
