No. 9 LSU softball gets swept by No. 4 Alabama

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - No. 9 LSU dropped the final game of the series to No. 4 Alabama at Tiger Park Sunday.

The Tigers (40-15, 14-10 SEC) fell 5-1 to the Crimson Tide (50-6, 18-6 SEC). It is the first time since 2005 that Alabama has swept LSU at Tiger Park.

Shelbi Sunseri hit her 16th home run of the year.

Sunseri also started in the circle for LSU and surrendered five runs on three hits in 3.2 innings of work. She also struck out two batters. Shelby Wickersham relieved her. She didn’t give up any runs on two hits and had one strikeout.

All of the runs in the game happened in the fifth inning.

LSU is next headed to College Station, TX, for the SEC Tournament, which starts Wednesday and lasts until Saturday.
