NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two kayakers were rescued by the Coast Guard Saturday morning near Grand Isle.
According to Coast Guard officials, two people were spotted going into the water just before 11 a.m. Rescue boats were launched and the two kayakers were rescued.
Both were taken to a local hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
A post shared on Facebook showed the moments after the rescue stating that a waterspout passed through the area. Coast Guard officials could not confirm if a waterspout caused the kayakers to go into the water.
Severe weather moved through the area Saturday morning prompting several tornado warnings.
