BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man is in jail after allegedly severely beating and robbing two people, officials with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office report.
The arrest report says on Thursday, April 25 around 2 a.m., EBRSO deputies responded to the Econolodge in the 10400 block of Reiger Road about a beating. The victim was found severely beaten and taken to a local hospital. At the hospital, the victim reportedly told deputies he met two “transsexuals” at the Waffle House on Reiger Road, and after buying them breakfast, gave them a ride back to their hotel.
The victim says the two asked him to hang out in their room, and once inside the room, they immediately attacked him and took his wallet, cell phone, and about $1,400 in cash. The victim was able to get away and flee to a nearby room to get help. The report says when the victim got to the nearby room, the second victim opened the door and tried to help, but was attacked by one of the suspects, identified as Kendarious Sam. The second victim’s Vans shoes were also reported removed and taken back to Sam’s room.
The second victim was also reportedly robbed.
The victim described the first suspect as a tall, light skinned black male with a blonde/rose colored wig and tattoos on his arm. The second suspect was described as a dark skinned, tall male with yellow shorts.
The report says the victim had swollen eyes and multiple lacerations to the face and it appeared that the victim would be permanently disfigured.
Investigators noted blood on the ground outside the hotel room where the attack reportedly occurred and also found the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot. A search warrant was then obtained for the hotel room.
Detectives located Sam inside the hotel room. A blonde/rose colored wig was also found in the room. A bloody towel was also discovered near the door and the room was in a state of disarray, with lamps knocked over and chairs pushed around the room. Several $100 bills were also found on the floor of the room. The second victim’s Vans shoes were also reportedly found inside the room.
Sam was placed under arrest and read his rights. When asked about the incident, he reportedly denied any criminal activity. When asked about the bloody towel found in the room, he reportedly told deputies it was his friend’s menstrual blood.
The report states Sam locked his legs and refused to walk once cuffed and had to be carried to the unit. He then reportedly wrapped his leg around the door once in the unit, then kicked the door open as it was being shut.
Sam is charged with second degree robbery, resisting an officer, and simple robbery.
