ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A Lafayette man was arrested Friday, April 19 in connection to a 2017 contractor fraud case in Ascension Parish
The financial crimes unit with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Ellis St. Pierre, 37, on a charge of residential contractor fraud.
An investigation revealed that St. Pierre received $40,000 to rebuild a flood-damaged home in 2017, but no work was completed. The victim received a refund of $20,000 from St. Pierre’s business partner, but never received the remainder of the funds, according to the sheriff’s office.
St. Pierre was booked into the Ascension Parish jail and posted a $20,000 bond.
