Baton Rouge General hires surgeon to expand cardiothoracic surgery services

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Bluebonnet campus of Baton Rouge General is expanding its services in cardiothoracic surgery with the hiring of a surgeon. The expanded program is called the Baton Rouge General Physicians Cardiovascular and Thoracic Specialists.

The hospital said in a Monday release that it hired Dr. V. Antoine Keller, a board-certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon. Keller will perform adult cardiac and thoracic surgery with special expertise in heart valve and minimal access surgery, as well as trans-catheter valve replacement.

He maintains membership in the American College of Surgeons, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, The Southern Thoracic Surgeons Association and other professional organizations.

In addition, BR also hired Brooke Everett, RN, who will coordinate the clinic’s structural heart disease programs.

The program is now up and running and is currently taking patients.
