OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Free beer tomorrow, the old joke goes, but it's coming true in one Mississippi city.
The Oxford Eagle reports city aldermen voted 5-1 Tuesday to allow stores that specialize in selling beer to offer free 1-ounce samples to shoppers.
A store could offer a customer up to five samples in a 24-hour period.
Jackson Beer Co. owner Allen Jackson says the ordinance will allow him to hold tasting events without making food available, as is required now.
