FAYETTEVILLE, AR (WAFB) - No. 9 LSU was run-ruled by No. 18 Arkansas Friday in the second game of the series at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, AR.
The Tigers (36-11, 13-7 SEC) went down 11-1 in five innings to the Razorbacks (34-14, 8-9 SEC). With the win, the Razorbacks claimed the series.
LSU jumped out to a lead in the top of the first inning. Aliyah Andrews scored on a hit by Shelbi Sunseri that went straight back to the pitcher to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Maribeth Gorsuch started in the circle for LSU and struggled out the gate. She gave up seven runs on four hits, including a home run, in only 0.2 innings of work. She suffered the loss and dropped to 10-2 on the season.
Sunseri replaced her and allowed four runs on six hits in 1.2 innings. All of those runs were given up in the bottom of the third inning.
LSU will try to avoid the sweep in the final game of the series Saturday. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
