ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA (WAFB) - An 18-year-old from Moss Point, Mississippi was killed in a crash early Friday in West Feliciana Parish, according to a release from the Louisiana State Police.
Ar around 1:30 a.m. on April 19, 2019, troopers began investigating a single vehicle deadly crash on US Hwy 61 north of LA Hwy 965. Troopers learned the teenager, identified as Makenna Tunstall, died in the crash.
The news release stated the crash happened as Tunstall was driving a 2009 Saturn Aura northbound on US Hwy 61. The Saturn ran off the roadway to the left and entered the median. The vehicle then re-entered the northbound lanes of travel on US Hwy 61 and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Tunstall’s car then collided head-on with a tree bordering the roadway.
The West Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Tunstall dead at the crash site. Troopers have not determined whether Tunstall was impaired.
A toxicology sample was taken from Tunstall and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash is still under investigation.
