CLINTON, LA (WAFB) -
Officials in East Feliciana Parish said in a press conference Monday, April 15 that they are still unable to provide conclusive details surrounding the shooting, but they were able to provide preliminary details from their investigation.
Officials say Myron Flowers was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Deputy Cullen Wilson with the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office. The deputy noticed Flowers had a gun and attempted to secure it, officials say.
A struggle ensued over the weapon and there was an exchange of gunfire, a witness told investigators.
According to officials, police say they recovered two guns from Flowers, one of which was reported stolen. Officials also noted Flowers is a convicted felon and was on supervised probation at the time of the shooting. Deputy Wilson has been employed by the department for about seven years.

The Clinton police officer involved in the shooting was identified as Richard Boudoin.
Officials are unable to determine which shot was fired first.
Police are in the process of getting video of the incident from a nearby business. At this time, an autopsy report has not been turned over to investigators.
The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting involving law enforcement officers Friday night, according to Chief Deputy Greg Phares. The suspect is reportedly dead.
The shooting happened on LA 10 near Jackson Street in Clinton around 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 13.
According to sources, a police officer returned fire after being shot at during a traffic stop, killing the suspect.
