BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - February is heart health awareness month.
Since heart disease is the number one killer of women in Louisiana, local experts want Louisianians to be aware of what they can do to prevent it.
That’s why Southern University is hosting an event for people to ask questions and learn about heart health.
It’s called “Hearts Full of Fitness”. It’s happening on Tuesday, February 12th at the Southern University Intramural Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
The event is designed for community members to ask their most pressing questions about heart health and to learn how they can improve their quality of life.
Panelists are experts in the fields of medicine, nutrition and fitness in the region.
