FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Rain, cold ahead

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Mainly dry weather Monday evening will give way to widespread shower and t-storm activity overnight.

Rains will arrive in most areas before daybreak and while the severe weather threat looks to be minimal, it’s not zero. Plan on a wet morning commute Tuesday, with rains continuing through the morning, but drier weather settles in by the afternoon. Temperatures won’t move much through the day, with lows in the low 60s and highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday morning will be our coldest of the week as morning lows dip into the upper 30s, but highs will rebound into the mid to upper 60s under sunny skies.

Valentine’s Day is shaping up to be mild, with a slight chance of showers by the evening, and it looks like we’ll stay mild, with low rain chances right on into the weekend.

A somewhat unsettled pattern may setup for the first half of next week.
