BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Blue Cross employees kicked off American Heart Month by participating in National Wear Red Day.
They followed a company tradition of gathering for a group picture of employees posed in the shape of a heart.
This year, they were led by little Everett Gautreau, who was born 1 of the 110 babies last year with a congenital heart defect. Everett’s mom, Nancy Gautreau, works at Blue Cross.

- Feb. 7 to Feb. 14 is Congenital Heart Defect Awareness week
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana will work throughout February to help raise heart health awareness through social media and other means.
At the same time, employees are forming teams and beginning their fundraising activities for the 25th annual Baton Rouge-area Heart Walk.
