BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Babies born at Baton Rouge General’s Birth Center are donning red in support of National Wear Red Day.

  • First Friday of every February
  • Kicks off American Heart Month
  • Raises awareness about cardiovascular disease
KeLee Gertrude Williams was born Thursday, January 31 at 2:22 p.m., weighing 7 lbs., 0.6 oz and measuring 19 in. long. She is welcomed by Yuketa Whitley and Lee Williams. Mother and baby are both doing well.

The first Friday of every February is National Wear Red Day, which kicks off American Heart Month.

National Wear Red Day and American Heart Month aim to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S.
