COLLEGE STATION, TX (WAFB) - No. 19 LSU extended its winning streak to 10 by beating the struggling Texas A&M Aggies, 72-57, at Reed Arena in College Station, TX.
Sophomore guard Tremont Waters led the way with a season-high 36 points. It was his second highest scoring performance as a Tiger. He made six 3-pointers in the game, which is a career-high.
Waters was the only player in purple to score in double figures. He also had a season-high seven rebounds and season-high 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
“I guess he likes it here," head coach Will Wade commented on Waters’s play. “I think he just played an overall great floor game. He got going early, he was aggressive, and he was attacking and when he plays like that, our team feeds off of that. [TJ] Starks is obviously a very good player. Starks had a great night and it was just a good point guard matchup.”
Naz Reid, Kavell Bigby-Williams, and Marlon Taylor chipped in seven points each. Bigby-Williams was big in the paint, pulling down 11 rebounds and swatting away three shots.
LSU is now 17-3 overall and 7-0 in the SEC, tying the Tigers with the Tennessee Volunteers for first place in the conference.
