BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said the time is always right, to do what is right. And for Baton Rouge native Warrick Dunn, doing what is right has become second nature.
Last week, his Home for the Holidays program worked alongside the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge, students and faculty of Catholic High School and local businesses to help a single mother of two from Plaquemine become a new homeowner. Gabrielle, the new homeowner put over 250 sweat equity hours into the new home and called the gift overwhelming, but Warrick had another word for it ... wonderful.
Mr. Dunn, we completely agree. It’s wonderful of you to help so many families in our area live the dream of home ownership. But in our opinion, you are doing more than building homes. You are making communities WONDERFUL places to live.
That’s our turn.
