Coroner identifies pedestrian killed in Mandeville

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The St. Tammany Parish coroner has identified a pedestrian who was killed in Mandeville over the weekend.

According to the coroner, the woman found on the Bayou Castine Bridge was identified as Cassandra McClain, 37, of Bogalusa.

McClain died of multiple blunt force trauma to the head, chest and abdomen, according to the report.

The coroner said the manner of death and toxicology test results are pending.

“We send our condolences to Ms. McClain’s family and loved ones,” Preston said. “I am truly appreciative of the assistance of the news media in sharing our request for information, and to the public who responded," said Dr. Charles Preston, St. Tammany Coroner.

Louisiana State Police are investigating the crash.

According to the report, McClain was walking on Hwy 190 around dusk Saturday when she was struck by two vehicles. She was not carrying identification or a cellphone.
