MORGAN CITY, LA (WAFB) - The daughter of Chabill’s Tire and Auto Service, based in Morgan City, will take over as the new CEO for the auto repair company in the New Year.
Elizabeth Gowland Barron will formally assume the position on January 1, 2019, taking the reins from her father, Charley Gowland, who is retiring after 50 years with the business, according to a press release.
Barron co-foundered Chabill’s with Billy Parker in 1968 when they were approached by BF Goodrich about selling tires in the Morgan City area. The company has since expanded its locations throughout the south Louisiana, with some in Baton Rouge, Praireville and Gonzales.
Gowland Barron, who is most recently the Vice President of Operations ans Sales, has worked at Chabill’s for 26 years, holding various positions.
“I plan to continue the tradition of high quality customer service that has been established under my father’s leadership,” Beth Barron said. “With the ongoing support of the Chabill’s leadership team, we will continue to offer high quality products and superior technical services. We will also continue to look at expansion opportunities.”
