BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man has been arrested after leading police on a high speed chase through Baton Rouge.
Police say on Dec. 12 around 2 a.m., an officer saw a white, 4-door Nissan Altima headed westbound on I-10. It’s noted that the vehicle was stolen out of Eunice and had been scanned in Lafayette on I-10 E around 1:20 a.m. the same night.
The officer initiated a traffic stop, but the person driving the vehicle, later identified as Daron Senegal, 18, immediately took off at a high rate of speed. Senegal led police through south Baton Rouge, ignoring many stop signs, traffic lights, and driving in the wrong lane, endangering other drivers, police say.
Senegal then tried to run from police after stopping the vehicle on I-110 N. Senegal was eventually captured after being found hiding under a house on Eddie Robinson Drive.
Senegal is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, and resisting an officer.
