NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Natchitoches Parish authorities are reporting storm damage in the area of Plantation Point and Fish Hatchery Road.

Sheriff’s deputies report having seen an eastbound tornado on the ground Monday afternoon along Highway 1 between Natchez and Natchitoches.

The National Weather Service has received reports of:

  • trees down on a house on Louisiana Highway 1221 at Marthaville,
  • damage to the roof and porch of a house in the Plantation Point community, and,
  • damage near Fish Hatchery Road.

Beverly Prince says she, her husband and her pets rode out a possible tornado in their home.

The Plantation Point residence she has called home for about two years “was literally lifted up off the foundation and moved” during the storms Monday afternoon, she said.

“The beams in my house are all twisted,” Prince said as she listed off damage that includes her ceiling and utility room.

The Weather Service tentatively plans to send two survey teams out Tuesday morning to assess damage in Natchitoches and Winn parishes that started near Natchez and damage from northern Sabine Parish to northern Natchitoches Parish.
