Alberto's eastward shift continues ...

Today's Forecast

Today's Forecast Image

Sub-tropical Storm Alberto is slightly stronger today and moving a little faster northward in the eastern Gulf of Mexico (centered about 165 miles SW of Tampa, FL) - winds have increased to 45 mph; moving to the north at 15 mph.  The "eastward shift" continues, and it looks as if "Tropical Storm Alberto" will make landfall tomorrow along the Florida panhandle ... excellent news for our part of the world!  Otherwise, our local holiday forecast is calling for a sun/cloud mix, a 40% - 50% coverage of showers and storms today, a high of 88°; overall, expect the same basic forecast for tomorrow, Memorial Day.  Beyond Monday, a transition back to a drier and a hotter weather pattern is expected to wrap the incredibly hot month of May! Daily rain chances will run 20% to 30% from Tuesday through Friday with highs in the low to mid 90°s ... and, daytime highs could even go up a notch or two next weekend! - Diane Deaton, WAFB First Alert Storm Team
