REPORT: Edwin Edwards will not receive prison commutation

A White House spokesman says President George W. Bush has issued his "last acts of clemency", meaning the president will apparently -not- commute the prison sentence of former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards.

Former Louisiana Governor Dave Treen, who is among those who have led the fight to get Edwards released, says he is disappointed by the news.  "I'll still hold out hope that it will happen," Treen told WAFB's Jim Shannon.
