Clay Young hails from quaint New Roads, Louisiana. He has been in the broadcasting industry for more than a decade.
While at Southern University, Young discovered a passion for broadcasting. Mr. Young has worked for five broadcasting companies including six radio stations and two television stations. Young has hosted radio shows in both morning and afternoon drive. Clay has interviewed national figures like former Pres. Bill Clinton, Col. Oliver North, John O'Neil, and Dick Morris, just to name a few.
Young was also the first local radio host in the state of Louisiana to speak weekly with soldiers on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan. Great motivational speakers like Stephen Covey, Zig Ziglar and T. Harv Eker have also spoken with Clay Young to promote regional events and their latest literature.
Young's honors include awards from the Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network, the US Marines, US Central Command in Qatar, US Senator David Vitter and the White House. Young has also been featured in various newspaper, television and radio spotlights for his community work and youth advocacy. Young is a certified facilitator for The National Center for Fathering and helped found a fatherhood program in Baton Rouge.
In the days before, during and after Hurricane Katrina, Clay Young was a mainstay on radio airways from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. The Clay Young Show served as a vital conduit of information between public officials and effected citizens. Young worked 17 consecutive days covering the nation's worst natural disaster.
Young recently hosted As I See It with Clay Young , a news and current events television emanating from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Young has recently undertaken the role of columnist. Prominent state web publications like TheDeadPelican.com and PoliticsLA.com have posted Young's work.
Young has also done voice wok in marketing campaigns for well-known, nationwide companies like Napa Auto Parts and McDonald's. Mr. Young is a traditionalist who believes "the greatness of America is in our perseverance and not the hand-outs of government.
