BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Newly-elected Louisiana Governor Chip Majors is on the short list for vice president of the United States.

That's the plot of the latest movie being shot in Baton Rouge.

"Attack on the Governor" stars Robin Givens, Eric Roberts, and Billy Zane, with James Dumont as "Governor Chip Majors".

The filmmakers have been shooting for the past several days.

Thursday afternoon, a car chase was shot on Plank Road near Choctaw.

"It's a political thriller, along the lines of the kinda facing today in terms of we have oil, we have energy problems, but it all takes place right here in Louisiana. All mostly local cast. I'm bayou coastal, little bit Louisiana, little bit Los Angeles," says Dumont, who has in-laws in Baton Rouge.

He describes his character as a cross between Huey Long and Edwin Edwards.

He actually watched a documentary on Louisiana governors to beef up his part.
