Man dies after head on crash in Tangiophoa Parish

Louisiana State Troopers are investigating a fatal crash in Tangipahoa Parish.

The crash happened just after midnight at the intersection of Highway 442 and Stafford Road. Troopers say 22 year old Donald Bailey Jr. of Hammond was traveling east on 442 in a 2005 Ford Taurus. At the same time, 27 year old Brian Christian of Livingstion was heading west in a 2008 Ford pickup.

Troopers say the vehicles collided head-on causing both vehicles to spin. They say the Taurus, driven by Donald Baily Jr., burst into flames. State troopers say Donald Bailey Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, Brian Christian was transported to North Oaks Hospital, treated for minor injuires.

State Troopers say alcohol use is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
