A two-alarm fire broke out in the Wooddale area of Baton Rouge around 7:00 Thursday evening. It happened on Tom Drive between Airline Highway and Wooddale.

9NEWS is told the building is a total loss. The flames have been put out and things were calm as of 10:00 p.m., but it was a different story earlier in the evening. Firefighters were called out a little before 7:00 to tackle a blaze at the old Hancock Bank building.

One Baton Rouge family has invested all of its money into it, transforming the old bank into a reception hall called A Southern Touch of Class. The owners are visibly shaken up, having to watch the series of events unfold.

The fire has been contained and there are many surrounding businesses on Tom Drive, so firefighters worked quickly to make sure the blaze could not spread. Luckily, there are no injuries to report and no one was inside of the reception hall when the fire broke out.

There's still no word on what started the fire. Investigators were out Thursday night checking things out. We'll keep you updated on the latest findings.
