Awards & Accomplishments: Communicator of the Year (PRAL), Woman of the Year (Zonta's House), 2nd place script-writing Southeastern Educational TV, Person I'd Most Like to Have Lunch With (Gambit Readers), Lifetime Achievement Award from the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters, Award of Excellence from Women in Media, and a Volunteer Activist Award from B.R. Speech and Hearing Foundation.
Family Info: Husband Mark Ballard, Editor, Capital Bureau for The Advocate newspaper. Daughter Annie is a sophomore in college, son Lou is in fourth grade.
Community Involvement: Baton Rouge Symphony Marketing Committee, Library Volunteer at Progress Elementary.
Hobbies: Travel, playing with the kids, do-it-yourself home repair and gardening/digging in the dirt. I've also discovered, to my surprise, that I am a big fan of CBS's comedy, Big Bang. I've never liked sit-coms, but I laugh myself to tears a couple of times each show.
