Transitioning Back to School:
Getting back to the routine of the school year after a summer of fun and sun can be stressful - not to mention a big adjustment. Be positive and supportive for you child (remember you were in this situation once before). Talk to you child about some of the fun things you used to do in school. Visit the school with your child so you can get to know their environment, and take part in the PTA. Also, keep encouraging your child. When they make good grades or do well on a class project, reward them. But don't forget to listen to your child. There is a difference between not wanting to go to school because they're missing Rugrats and being afraid of going to school.
