LSU Plummets in the AP Poll

Even more sad news for Tigers fans after last night's game as LSU gets only one first-place vote in the AP Poll and drops to fifth place in the latest rankings.

Ohio State's expected rise to number one in The Associated Press Top 25 is official. The 7-and-0 Buckeyes leapfrogged from third following losses by formerly top-ranked LSU and former number two California.

The Bears plunge to tenth. South Florida picked up 11 first-place mentions and vaults from fifth to second, with Boston College and Oklahoma at three and four after getting one first-place vote each.

South Carolina checks in at number six, followed by Oregon and Kentucky, which jumps from 17th to eighth on the strength of its upset of LSU. West Virginia sits ninth ahead of Cal.

Virginia Tech is 11th, followed by Arizona State, Southern California and Florida. Kansas and Missouri are tied for 15th, and then it's Hawaii, Auburn, Texas and Tennessee.

The last five consists of Georgia, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Michigan and Kansas State.
