LSU Football Player Arrested

Detectives with Baton Rouge police arrested an LSU football player on campus Thursday afternoon. Derrick Odom, III is now facing some serious charges. Coach Les Miles has suspended Odom from the team, but he is still gathering information and trying to figure out what happened. Derrick Odom wears #57 for the Tigers. He was red-shirted as a freshman last year, and was expected to see some playing time in a backup capacity.

He's now accused of trying to break-in to a condo off Brightside. Detectives believe Odom went to the condo after getting into an argument with a young man who lives there. That young man called his father, and police tell us the LSU linebacker threatened the father and told him, "I am here to kick someone's *you know what* and if you don't get your son out here, I'll kick your *you know what.*"

Detectives say once Odom couldn't force his way through the condo's door, he vandalized the young man's car in the parking lot. There were several other LSU players involved, but we are told Derrick Odom, III was the aggressor. Sources tell us at first, the victims in this case just asked for an apology and for Odom to pay for the damage. An assistant in the LSU Athletic Department tried to arrange that, but we are told that Odom denied everything, so now, charges have been filed.
