There are just ten days left for the 2007 legislative session. So far, the House has passed 105 bills, while the Senate has passed nine. A slew of others are still being debated.
On Monday's agenda is a bill that would give a $1500 annual pay raise to firefighters, law enforcement and other first responders.
Also, a committee will continue to debate an art education bill that would bring what Senator Sharon Weston-Broome and Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu call "cultural opportunities" to all public school students in Louisiana.
Of course, the debate on the state budget continues. Many legislators think political wrangling over how to spend the state's budget surplus will go on right up to the last minute.
