Question:
Have any storms ever formed in the pacific and crossed over into the Gulf with further intensification?
Answer:
Yes! A Pacific storm has crossed Central America into the Atlantic Basin region at least once. I believe (from hazy memory) that it has happened 2 or 3 times.
One of those - October 1923 - actually strengthened and made its landfall as a hurricane in Louisiana!
Great Question ... thanks!
