Two 18-Wheelers Filled for "Feed the Children"

The East Baton Rouge School System was hard at work outside Friday, helping to feed the children.

Dozens of volunteers pitched in at Living Faith Cathedral to load two 18-wheelers full of donated food to "Feed the Children" program.

It will be distributed to East Baton Rouge Parish agencies that serve displaced families and homeless children. Last year, the organization distributed 1.3 million pounds throughout Louisiana.

Charlotte Johnson with Greater Mt. Olive Missionary says, "I am very excited about this and to see all of the organizations out here helping the kids of Baton Rouge, it's a wonderful experience."

This year, volunteers collected enough food to feed 800 families. "Feed the Children" transfers food across the country and has six warehouses in the U.S.
