Carbon Monoxide Detectors in Place at West Feliciana Courthouse

Carbon monoxide detectors are now in place at the West Feliciana Parish Courthouse.

A dozen courthouse workers in St. Francisville were hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning last Monday.

And on Friday, strong levels again were detected in the courthouse.

The police jury says a company hired to monitor levels did not detect any carbon monoxide, Monday.

They've installed temporary monitors until permanent ones can be put in place.

The monitors will sound an alarm in the courthouse if readings are high, and will also alert the fire department.
