Charlotte Lafauci's Tom Ben Ghetti

2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 lbs. ground pork
1 large onion, finely chopped
1-2 oz can pimentoes, drained
1-7 ozpkg. elbow macaroni, cooked per pkg directions
1 16 oz. can English peas, drained
1-10 3/4 oz can tomato soup, no water
1-4 oz can mushrooms, drained
1 green pepper, finely chopped
Grated Velveeta cheese

In a large skillet add enough Crisco to cook meat, onions, and peppers.  Add the onions and green peppers when the meat is almost done.  People want to finish cooking the meat as soon as it browns, but to enjoy the full flavor of the meat, cook it slower for about 30 minutes.  Salt and pepper to taste.  When done, drain excess fat and add all the other ingredients.  Mix well and place in casserole dish put grated cheese or sliced Velveeta on top, whichever you prefer.  Place in 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes until cheese is melted and browned to suit you.
